Tell me if this sounds good <3 “It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be,” Albus Dumbledore once said. I was born on June 1st, 2007, and my family and I purchased our first home 13 years later. It was December 31st, 2019, and many people in the United States were in a state of crisis. A virus spread throughout the country, making it difficult for many people to obtain housing. We looked for a home for almost two years and were unable to find one. We discovered that something was wrong with it, that it was too expensive, or that it had already been purchased. We found one a month before August 9th, 2020. A friend of my dad’s, someone he grew up with’s father was moving in with his son, who was soon to be his caretaker. His son was going to sell the house to a friend, relative, etc. It was in our price range, and we were a friend. We moved in on August 9th, 2021. It was initially difficult to locate a moving firm that could assist us. We discovered one at our previous home, but it didn't work out. As a result, we rented a U-haul truck and moved everything in ourselves. My father was wearing a cast on his arm due to a work accident at the time. As a result, my mother and sister, as well as myself, were quite helpful. It was difficult at first, but we eventually got the hang of it. We eventually got everything settled in and began moving things together. We had a lot of stuff, despite the fact that our prior house was little and this one was larger. For us, there were a lot of firsts in this new house. This is our first time buying a house, which has been pretty frustrating in some ways. However, it has been and will continue to be a positive experience. My mother, sister, and I were able to meet our neighbors a few days ago. Our next-door neighbor runs a daycare and has the cutest cat you've ever seen. Not to add the fact that he resembles Snowball, my cat. The one just across from us teaches international exchange students, and I think it's been a fantastic experience. Finally, we get to choose our room colors and reflect our inner selves. As much as I love this home, I do miss my old friends. I will get to see them again someday. “You can never lose anything that never belongs to you, and you can’t keep that which belongs to someone else,” Edgar Cayce famously stated. Which in my view means that you haven’t lost anything and you never will, but you can’t keep someone because they aren’t your’s and only yours.

Wow you crushed this, you're a very talented writer. Two small things I would change: "A friend of my dad’s, someone he grew up with’s father was moving in with his son, who was soon to be his caretaker" was kind of hard for me to read the first couple of times, and the phrase "the cutest cat you've ever seen" is a superlative cliche, which I personally have been taught to avoid when writing in professional situations. But you are definitely the best judge of what fits the message you are trying to portray and of the feel you want in your essay, so edit as you see fit. Awesome essay tho =)
