Foreverangel:

5i - (2-i) I know the answer is -2+6i I need help with how I would start the work

crispyrat:

By start the work do you mean show it? Like show the steps?

Foreverangel:

Yes

crispyrat:

Ok so lets remove the parentheses first? What do we get?

Foreverangel:

5i - 2 - i

crispyrat:

Not exactly this equation is the same as 5i+-(2-i) and -(2-i) is -2+i So we would get 5i-2+i

crispyrat:

Then we would move the -2 to where in this equation? before the 5i or after the i

Foreverangel:

Before

crispyrat:

Yes! so we have -2+5i+i

crispyrat:

Then you would just combine the i

Foreverangel:

That makes more sense thank you!

crispyrat:

Yw! :)
