okay, so I was told by a good teacher that writing song lyrics for a chorus could be converted from a poem. So try that first, if that doesn't work, then you should start by writing what the first line is on here, and then I can help you from there. Do you have any examples of the verses yet that you could post?

poems are sometimes naturally feelings of the author turned into words and these words may use imagery, emotions, or even logic of some kind about well pretty much anything.

Well are you trying to write a poem or a song?

If your trying to write a song i would go with a hook first

but if you're going with a poem I would recommend thinking about what you're trying to write about first like love, nature, etc.
