A short story I've been writing: I present to you [ A Mage's Way ]

The world was dusty, crumbling behind every small step man made. The air blew across my face, the warm radiation nearby warming my face. Earth wasn’t a happy world anymore. The only happy thing that a person could receive now was death. I kept walking straight, making sure to not stray from my path.
The building was crumbling, low power made the lights in their bulbs blink wildly, but the building was still operating. I stumbled upon the rotting steps of the bar, and walked through the broken door frame. The bar owner looked up from his dusty pub table, he grinned and shook his head. “Well if it isn’t Norvik stopping down for a drink once again, you know, you’re my top customer!” He laughed and asked what I would like.
“I’d have some dark whisky, if you still have some in stock” I replied.
“Ah! The dark magic of whisky!” He leans in closer as if to whisper something, “[i]you do know this stuff can kill you one day right?[/i]”
“At least I’ll be happy again.” I smiled and passed him 10 coins of odd shape. Money was useless now. Nobody could print money anymore, or mint coins. So people ended up using any small pieces of junk they could find to pay off their items. Small items like bottle caps, shiny rocks, gems, anything that looked valuable, was valuable now.
