Which steps should writers follow to include quoted material in an informative essay? Check all that apply. Use MLA format to provide a citation for the source. Use quotation marks around an author’s direct words. Rewrite the author’s main points using your own words. Explain how the quoted information supports a main idea. Use brackets to show what is being quoted from the source.

So, ever thought about when you're writing an essay for your teacher. They always want you to use MLA format because you can cite your sources and keep them neat. Whenever you copy someone's words, you always want to add qoutations. For example, " The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance," Aristotle once said. You can rewrite what the author said, as long as you make it your words and not plagiarized. It's only considered plagiarism if you say it's yours when it's not. I had to do research for this one. According to cuesta edu, "The main idea is the "key concept" being expressed. Details, major and minor, support the main idea by telling how, what, when, where, why, how much, or how many. So, if you think that the quoted information would support the main idea, then it could. Not saying it always will. And brackets can and always will be used to show what is being quoted from the source.

I hope that helps o-o If I led you wrongly, I apologize in advance.
