i saw a spider today- it was a pumpkin spider, more commonly known as the marbed orbweaver spider- SS of what it looks like below- how is it able to stay on the web? how is it that the spider never runs out of silk to make it's web?

It actually does, webs are made of proteins that they pull outta there butt, the protein molecule's align and create the web or "silk". This web is almost 60x the strength of non tempered steel!
axie:
Since Spiders normally eat bugs, they almost have an endless supply of silk.

They do bite, but pumkin spiders are in a sub category known as "garden spiders" and are hardly harmful to humans, it would be like if you got a mosquito bite.
karissafrazier:
+i think it was a female- females are bigger than the males so therefore not only is it confusing on how they are able to mate without the female eating the male but how big the spider was

pumpkin spiders are not known to inflict bites that result in anything more than a sting.
