A jar contains 0.25 liter of apple juice and 0.30 liter of grape juice. Melissa poured 0.75 liter of pineapple juice into the jar. She then drank 0.20 liter of the mixture. Part A: Write an expression to represent the total amount of juice left in the jar. Part B: Simplify the expression and identify which property is used in each step.
I need help mostly with part B
What math are you in? like, is it algebra or? I need to know so I can help you better.
Its just there are multiple equations and I don't know which one to use. It really depends on what math you are using.
not very sure what you mean by that, sorry im dumb but says for this module it says rational numbers as the title if that helps any, sorry again
LOl it's ok. I can work with this. give me one second please.
ok ty :)
OK so first thing you gonna do is, add 0.25, 0.30, and 0.75. Do that and tell me wht you get.
ok so I got 1.30 for that
hmm. I didn't get the same answer.
I actually got 1.3. Can you try that one more time and See if you did something wrong?
lemme check
Ok
yeah your right, sorry
Its ok. We all make mistakes Sometimes.
Anyways after that you should subtract that number from 0.20. What do you get?
1.1
Correct!. now last thing to do is figure out the Property that is used.
ok :P
Do you have an idea on what it might be?
I think it might be the distributive property, not completely sure
Hmm distributive. That is when there are parentheses. Are there any parenthesis in this problem?
hmm no
I know what were doing. I did this in my first unit of algebra 2. Im currently taking algebra 2.
I"m a little rusty because this was at the beginning of the year. But i will try to help as best as I can
So there are commutative, associative, distributive.
yup
so it's not distibutive
What do you think it could be? from the look if the problem?
additional maybe?
I mean associative
sorry
Yes. That would be correct. it is being added by a number right?
Well there you go. Feel free to tag me or dm me about any more questions you have! Ill be happy to help whenever I can!
tysm :D
