HelovesNaomi:

help....Mecayla harvests oysters from the shallow waters of the marsh near her home. She eats the shellfish almost every day. Her brother Kendis dislikes oysters but eats local predator fish from the river three times a week. Recent water quality tests show moderate levels of heavy metals in the river and marsh. What is the most likely result of this pollutant on Mecayla and Kendis if they maintain the same diet? Mecayla will get sick first because she eats oysters every day. Kendis will get sick first because of less bioaccumulation. Biomagnification will cause Kendis to become ill first. Bioaccumulation will cause Mecayla to become ill first.

AN0NYM0US:

it says Mecayla eats Shellfish everyday so that means she will get sick first, because when you eat something everyday then you are most likely to get sick then just eating it 3 times a week.

HelovesNaomi:

so what do that mean?

HelovesNaomi:

but that isnt the answer :( that she will gett sick first

HelovesNaomi:

but would the answer be d?

AN0NYM0US:

it means the paragraph states that she eats it everyday so she is more then likely to get sick than him

HelovesNaomi:

ohh ok then

AN0NYM0US:

you are correct!

HelovesNaomi:

i am so it is D?

Vocaloid:

Politely disagree with the previous response. Because of biomagnification, the higher up the food chain you go, the higher the concentration of toxic substances there are. Therefore, because Kendis is eating a predator fish, Kendis will suffer more from the effects of biomagnification.
