ok i cant figure it out

kward64:

kward64:

kward64:

ooooops only ment to send it once

axie:

So what do you know about absolute values?

kward64:

a little i think i did the test about absoulute values and i pasted but i cant figure it uot

axie:

So if i take a negative number and put value lines around it what happens to it?

kward64:

umm idk

axie:

|-18| = ??

kward64:

= 18

axie:

Exactly!

axie:

So what about |18|=??

kward64:

-18

kward64:

k i got it thanks

not quite

kward64:

then what is it

axie:

The absolute value is the number of things, look at it as |-18| has 18<answer negative ones, and |18| has 18<answer~~positive ones, so it would be 18 for both!

kward64:

oh yeah

axie:

So what would |18 | > = < |-18| be?

kward64:

i was thinking of opposites

kward64:

18

axie:

it would be equal!

axie:

So what is your answer to |7| ( ) |-7| be?

kward64:

= i think

kward64:

is that right

axie:

Think of it this way, if a number is in between the |~| lines, then it would be the VALUE of the number. So example |-1| has a value of 1 so the answer is |-1|=1
