The area of region A is: 40*w = 480 Find the value of w. Next, find the scale factor. It will be a ratio 3 in/ w as the ratio of corresponding sides.

For Part B use the scale factor and dimensions of the image to find the dimensions of the actual flag. (3 + 2 + 3 + 1) = 9 in and (2 + 8) = 10 in Divide 9/s and 10/s to find the required numbers. s- is the scale factor you will have found above.
