"His Brittanic Majesty acknowledges the said United States...to be free sovereign and independent states, that he treats with them as such, and for himself, his heirs, and successors, relinquishes all claims to the government, propriety, and territorial rights of the same and every part thereof." Treaty of Paris (1783) The Revolutionary War had a variety of important outcomes that shaped the history of the United States. Which outcome of the war do you think was most significant? Explain your choice. Be sure to provide details and examples in your answer.

NeverAlone:

Are there any answer choices?

NeverAlone:

or is this free response?

Sock:

nope its a free response

NeverAlone:

Understood. Okay, so let's do this. What are the 3 most important events during The Revolutionary War?

NeverAlone:

That'll give you some choices.

Sock:

Ok so could one of them be because of the taxes, since it was one of the things that caused the war?

Sock:

or would that not work in this situation

NeverAlone:

Good. The Revolutionary War was so that the colonists could gain independence right? (I might have the wrong war) and one of the biggest reasons the war started was taxes. We also however have to think about the Boston Tea Party. From what I remember, that's what really started the war.

NeverAlone:

The colonists pushed the king over the edge and he started to attack

Sock:

Yeah one of the main quotes was "No taxation without representation"

NeverAlone:

Yes! Right! Alright, now the question asks what OUTCOMES were most important. What was the main thing to be achieved from the war?

Sock:

Independence was the main thing they wanted to achieve from this war I'm pretty sure

NeverAlone:

Right. Problem is, we also have to explain how we got this answer. Why were the colonist trying to get independence? (Hint: You've answered this question already! o:)

because they were being taxed unfairly?

NeverAlone:

Yep. The colonists decided that was enough and wanted to gain independence from Great Britain. They made a new country with fair taxes. They got what they wanted. :]
