ok for a perpendicular line you have to flip the slope and change the sign meaning u flip the slope -2/1 which is just -2 then u change the sign so itll be a positive 2 now

CripQUEZZ:

u understand that?

TETSXPREME:

yus

CripQUEZZ:

alright

TETSXPREME:

neg number cant be 3/1?

CripQUEZZ:

they can be but its just how it is in this equation like if u have a slope of 2 then u flip it 1/2 and change the sign -1/2

CripQUEZZ:

but it can be a negative just depends on how the equation is set up

TETSXPREME:

oh

CripQUEZZ:

yeah

CripQUEZZ:

ok so now that ur slope is 2 u plug the ordered pair into the equation the formula is y - y1 = m(x - x1) so plug the y1 in first y + 8 and since the 8 is a -8 u change it to positive then plug in ur x1 and slope y + 8 = 2(x - 4)

TETSXPREME:

D?
