Sprinkles285:

I was wondering... When my dog Zara (French bulldog + Pug) is sleeping, after a while she starts to whimper and twitch. Is that something to be concerned about?

Icyhot:

Whimpering and twitching in sleep could be a sign your dog is having a metaphorical nightmare. I'm not entirely sure if animals dream, but they can have strong feelings we associate with dreams.

Thank you all. My mom and I just thought that it was just her having an exciting, happy dream. Now I know how to help her. I would give you both a medal but I can only give one.

but make sure you don't wake her up. Nightmares are similar to sleep walking in the sense that you could have a heart attack if you are suddenly woken up by an outside force (aka anther person or animal)

Again. Thank you!
