I’ll use G as an example The hypotenuse is the longest side. The hypotenuse will never be counted as opposite or adjacent sides. Now, for opposite sides, it’s the side furthest from the angle. The opposite side will never share a vertex with the angle. The adjacent side is the side next to the angle. So for G, let’s use 21 degrees as the reference angle. The opposite side is x, and the adjacent side is 8 (not y. y is the hypotenuse.)
