Not sure if you still need help with this Remember that compound sentences have two independent clauses, usually joined with a comma + coordinating conjunction just one off the top of my head: On Halloween, I watched Hocus Pocus, and then I went to sleep. ---> notice how it has two independent clauses (1. I watched Hocus Pocus. 2. I went to sleep.) joined by the coordinating conjunction "and".
