|dw:1636214788804:dw| area of the whole rectangle, including the path: the building is 15 m long, and it has a path of width x on each side, so the length of the whole rectangle is 15 + 2x similar logic with the width: 11 + 2x so the area of the entire rectangle is (15+2x)(11+2x) the area of the building itself is 11 * 15 the area of the path is the (area of the entire rectangle) - (area of the building) = 60 so (15+2x)(11+2x) - 11*15 = 60 solve for x
