Analyze a Wikipedia entry on a topic of your choice, noting how focused the information is, how key terms are defined, and how the entry is organized. How trustworthy do you find the information—and what makes you trust it (or not)? How would you characterize the tone? Informative? Informative but somewhat argumentative?

sammixboo:

Well, to know if a Wiki page is trustworthy or not, you should scroll to the bottom of the page to see the sources the article refers too. Make sure these sources come from credible places, such as from peered reviews articles, or anything that is well researched and proven to be true/insightful. As for the tone, does the article you choose seem to be professional? Playful? Informal? Informal? Does it seem to be informing you or trying to convince you of something? If it is simply informing you, then it is informative. If it is persuading you to feel a certain way about that topic, then you can say it is argumentative!
