n triangles ABC and LMN, ∠A ≅ ∠L, ∠B ≅ ∠M, and ∠C ≅ ∠N. Is this information sufficient to prove triangles ABC and LMN congruent through ASA? Explain your answer.

minustempo:

Do you know your congruence and similarity theorems? Since all three angles are equal, we know we have AAA. So is it AAA congruence or AAA similarity?

justboredandneedhelp:

AAA maybe

minustempo:

It's AAA similarity because you could have 2 equilaterial triangles with sides 1,1,1 and 2,2,2, which would all have angles of 60, but the two triangles have different sizes.

justboredandneedhelp:

how should i word the answer

minustempo:

No the info is not sufficient to use ASA, because we only know that the angles are congruent and not that one of the sides are equal.
