pls help Which of the following is a long-term impact of an oil spill on the environment? Kills birds, fish, and marine mammals Coats sand and plants, making habitats unlivable Clogs the gills of fish and coats the feathers of birds Biomagnification of oil within marine food chains
I think it is fish cuz it has to deal with ocean animals
I think it could be C because the fish have to swim in the water. And if there is oil in the water then it can get in the gills of the fish and cause it to not be able to breathe. And if a bird gets in the water and gets oil on its feathers then it will have a difficult time flying.
Politely disagree with the previous responses The question is asking about a *long-term* effect of an oil spill. Killing/harming wildlife, at least the way it's described in the answer choices, are short-term effects, while biomagnification of oil is a long-term effect (in order for oil to be biomagnified, it needs to contaminate producers, which must then be consumed by primary consumers, etc. up the food chain for biomagnification to happen.)
