Mrs. Martin had been living alone for over four years now in the house at the end of the street. At night, with the last street lamp two houses away, the alley and street around her house were quite dark. She had injured her leg a year ago when she had stumbled in the dark and had fallen down on the rough pavement, and she did not want it to happen to anyone else. So she had the neighbor boy Shane install solar night lights around the outside of her house. She hoped the light from the solar lamps would help those passing by. Now every evening at dusk, solar lights would flicker to life and illuminate her house.
