Ruth borrowed a book from a library. The library charged a fixed rental for the book and a late fee for every day the book was overdue. The expression below shows the charges Ruth paid for the book when she returned it x days after the due date: 2 + 0.25x What does the second term of the expression represent? (1 point) a The total late fee paid b The fixed rental for the book c The late fee per day for the book d The number of days the book was overdue
@sammixboo
2 + 0.25x The first term is 2 And the second term is 0.25x Now, the problem says that the total is made up of: 1. The fixed rental And 2. The late fee. Now, in a typical library, you get charged a late fee based on the number of days overdue. In this case, since x is the number of days, what do you think 0.25x represents?
i dont even know how to do this how would i solve that
i havent been doing my math work in school for weeks
and now idk how to do any of it
It’s not asking to solve anything, just asking what 0.25x means Let’s say the library charges 25 cents per day late. One day late is 25 cents or 0.25, right? Two days late would be 2*0.25 = 0.5, and so on. See the pattern? We multiply 0.25 * number of late days to get the late fee. So 0.25x is the total late fee for x days
so c @vocaloid
Please re read carefully 0.25 is the late fee per day, but since it’s asking about 0.25x, this is the fee per day multiplied by the number of days, so 0.25x is the total late fee
so A ima go crazy if it aint @vocaloid
