smo reply asap! a 35 m cable is attached to a TV tower at a height of 30 m. what is the angle of elevation of the cable? show steps to how u got the solution ty!

chocolateluva77:

provide a diagram if u can

Tranquility:

|dw:1638244181769:dw| There's your 30 meter tower and 35 meter cable. And in red is your angle of elevation

Tranquility:

Do you understand how I was able to come up with that diagram based on the information from the question? @chocolateluva77

chocolateluva77:

@tranquility yeah

Tranquility:

Now, you have an unknown angle and two sides. Do you know which trigonometric function you would use to calculate the angle?

Tranquility:

You have the adjacent side and the hypotenuse

@Tranquility cos

Tranquility:

I apologize. If you look at my drawing, the two sides that we know are the opposite side and the hypotenuse. The side labelled 30 is OPPOSITE the angle. And the side labelled 35 is the largest side in this triangle and is opposite the 90 degrees and as such is the hypotenuse Which trigonometric function do we have to use?

chocolateluva77:

@Tranquility sin

Tranquility:

Yes sin \(\theta\) = 30/35 Do you know how to solve for the angle?

chocolateluva77:

@Tranquility it's sin inverse (30/35) and that's the angle

Tranquility:

There you go!

chocolateluva77:

@Tranquility ty!
