Copy the graph at the right. On the same set of axes, graph the image of MNOP for a dilation with center (0,0) and scale factor 2. Use coordinate geometry and the definition of similar polygons to prove that MNOP is similar to its image.
Welcome To Questioncove Where is the graph?
one moment
So, dilation is expanding/growing a shape. In this case its a factor of 2. meaning that it is TWO times larger than it is, keep in mind that 1 times as big is the same size as it currently is, what you need to do is double the distance between the coordinates.
Ok, thx
what do u mean when u say double the distance between the coordinates?
So point P would go UP 3 and RIGHT 1, M would go UP 2 and RIGHT 3
Ok
O would stay in the same place but N would go over to the right 3
Does that clear things up or do i need to explain a bit more?
yes that does. Thank u
Yup!
