I agree. A lot. After all, the people are the ones going to war, busting our butts and risking our lives to do so. If anything, we our opinion should have the most weight and the biggest impact of all.

I think that when discussing foreign poly, the opinions of the people should at least be considered because after all, the government is built on the consent of the governed so it's only fair that they get to have some influence in the decisions that the government makes regarding foreign policy. However, they shouldn't have a huge impact because the people are not as informed as the government on the issues abroad. Their judgement may lead to something worse for the country. So overall, I think public opinion should have a slight impact on the foreign policy, but not a huge one.
