I could be wrong but, I THINK it is B only because when I learned things about the Spaniards they did a lot of crops and farming. But I might be wrong...
I think Rylee's response is correct. Even though part of the motivation to explore the New World may have been the possibility of gold, the majority of the profit from colonization came from cash crops like tobacco in the end. Slaves would have been more commonly used for farming, as opposed to finding and transporting gold
