njkfnewvnewfnewn:

Which of the following statements have the same result? Explain each step in solving each one. I. f(3) when f(x) = 2x + 2 II. f−1(4) when f(x) =3x minus 4, all over 5 III. y + 10 = 2y + 1

njkfnewvnewfnewn:

Sorry ,there isn't a diagram that comes with the question itself,but.....The question is,to actually explain each step in solving each function, and to see exactly if any two are the same in result.

njkfnewvnewfnewn:

If any one is around and can help in any way possible,I will really appreciate it,...

mhanifa:

For the first one, substitute x with 3 into equation and find the value.

klhsdvdsv:

If anyone is able to explain step by step of each of these three functions, that is all I really need help with.

mhanifa:

Can you add screenshot of the question?

klhsdvdsv:

Sorry I don't have a diagram with the question itself,as stated before. The way that it is shown,is how I am seeing it as well.Do you want me to repost the question again for you,is that what you mean?If not, sorry for not being help when it is needed at most.

klhsdvdsv:

Hello....is anyone still around, sorry I had answered a little late?

mhanifa:

f−1(4) is confusing. How you see it?

klhsdvdsv:

That was the one question I was confused with the most as well,so I do agree with you on that one.Though, for me I came up with a lot of interpretations to how and what to do exactly with the question itself, but yet,I am still most confused when I come across it itself. So,my answer to your question,is I personally don't really know,to be exact.

mhanifa:

If it was clear, you would find the value of this function and the first one and compare the results

klhsdvdsv:

I mean in all fun and games, you literally have the name of being the human calculator. So,I might be new around here, but you must have that name for a reason right, and I mean who wouldn't want to have that name or nickname,I know I would

klhsdvdsv:

Yes,exactly,I totally agree with you. So,is it clear enough in ways of being able to help.If not,I totally understand?

mhanifa:

The first one easy to find, the second one is confusing, the third one doesn't result in any number (just an equation). The way to find it is to calculate the first two and decide upon getting the result of each.

mhanifa:

The second one might be f^-1(4)

mhanifa:

In this case it becomes f^-1(4) when f(x) = (3x - 4)/5

klhsdvdsv:

Oh okay, well thank you very much for the explanations.Aside from that,is it possible for the answers or parts of the question you understand, can you please help with explaining the steps on how to overall solve them,if possible?

mhanifa:

I. f(3) = 2*3 + 2 = 8

mhanifa:

Sorry I need to leave, hope you can continue with the rest. Good luck

klhsdvdsv:

Oh okay,I understand.Well, overall, thank you for keeping up with me and my question I had.Thank you very much,it was really appreciated.Have a good rest of your day. Also,if in any way,you had possibly gotten offended by the little "joke" or "remark" I had made about you on the name of human calculator.I didn't mean it in a negative way,it was in terms of a compliment and or friendly joke to lighten the mood or ice,in such ways.

klhsdvdsv:

If anyone else is around who understands this specific question I have posted, please help,it is highly appreciated.

mhanifa:

Do you know how to find inverse of the function? This is for the second part of the question?
