sarahsux:

why is velocity of projection not qual to velocity of collision in ground-ground motion under gravity (air frictionless)

Timmyspu:

Well the velocity all depends on how fast and how the gravity effects the object because if the object say is a stone compered to a car then the car would start off faster but that rock would meet the velocity of how fast the car is going.

th3yluvgg:

Multiply the time by the acceleration due to gravity to find the velocity when the object hits the ground. If it takes 9.9 seconds for the object to hit the ground, its velocity is (1.01 s)*(9.8 m/s^2), or 9.9 m/s.

SemiDefinite:

bc velocity is a vector quantity. as is momentum.
