Can someone explain this to me?
I have a formula: \[H_2SO_4\]
How can i help you :3 (also welcome to question cove)
I need to find the name of the acid.
So what to the letters H S and O stand for on the periodic table?
I do see Hydrogen, Sulfur, and Oxygen.
So how many hydrogen do you see?
I see 2 Hydrogen.
In an atomic compound, what does 2 stand for? we have di, bi, tri ect.
bi-(Meaning two.)
close, in atoms we use "di" to mean two
so first we have Dihydrogen, meaning two hydrogen
and how many oxygen do we have? we have 4 right?
Okay, so Dihydrogen, now there is One Sulfur, and 4 Oxygen.
yeah! lemme draw it real quick so you can see the structure better
I can draw it if you'd like.
so sulfur is the atom that everything is bonding to, meaning that its sulfer some thing.
Acid and Sulfur make a Acid.
Oops. I meant Hydrogen and Sulfur.
so what kind of acid would it be?
its a sulfur acid
So, a Sulfuric Acid?
Yeah!
Thank you, very much greatly appreciated.
Yup! welcome to qc! I hope you enjoy it here!
Thank you, I do have a few more, if you're available.
I don't have time unfortunalty, but if you post it some one will come along soon
