It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the death of our dear dog, Patches. He’s been our faithful companion for 8 years now, and I know you’ve all come to love him as we do. Our kids will sure miss his yelps when they get home from school each day, and I, for one, can hardly walk across the yard without sobbing—Patches always used to come out of his house and play fetch whenever he heard me coming. The world is just not the same without him. Please hold Patches in your heart. He was as fine a dog as there ever was.
