Fun fact: QC actually has alternative domains I could unlock, but would unfortunately actually hurt QC, potentially really badly, which is why I don't have them enabled. for example, we own questioncove.com questioncove.net questioncove.org questioncove.us among others. That said, I would suggest using a VPN such as PrivateInternetAccess, it will change both the DNS servers you use (which is a big one thats used to block websites) as well as funnel traffic through them, so the school shouldn't even be able to see you are bypassing it. The question of course remains if your school has blocked the use of VPN's. What kind of computer are you using, Windows, or Chromebook?

ohh yess

Ultrilliam:

If your school does block VPN's, you can still try to manually change your DNS servers to a free public DNS, and it may unblock it. Personally I suggest cloudflares, Primary: 1.1.1.1 Secondary: 1.0.0.1

Ultrilliam:

Oh - looks like they released an app to automatically switch it on windows PC's to cloudflares DNS - cool

Phantomdex:

Oh wow the creator is alive atm-

While this is true, it is also true that an unfortunate number of people don't come here to learn, and that hurts QC in the long run.

A user got caught trying to swear. That’s why it was banned. Also I’ve tried some vpns and some things but nothing has worked. They are blocked as well.

If it's blocked, it's blocked. No point in trying to bypass it, you'll just get in school suspension or worse

Cyber:

I was going to simply just say either use a VPN or lambdatest it's a pay to use personal VPN it only cost $5 every 3 months for the basic package and it's pretty reliable.

Jay, as the creator of Question Cove, i assume you would give the best advice to your users. Could you explain to ninetailedfox that he could simply wait to get on question cove when he gets home, instead of getting on during instruction or even school time?

Because, question cove isn't a site used by any schools.

Cyber:

I have tested this before it is not the Wi-Fi it's some schools think they students are using it to chat with other people or not using it for actual School purposes like most people on this website.

LiamTheGreat:

Meaning, question cove to schools is like a game to kids.

Cyber:

There is an easy way around it if you don't want to go on to any of the pace websites or go underneath it using the internet you could as well reset your Chromebook to factory default settings and login with a hotspot make sure you do not factory reset it while you're in the school building

Prettykitty89:

Ok hold on, how will it hurt the website? What exactly do you mean by it will cause more harm. You said this in dms and now here. I just wanna know what you mean by that

Ultrilliam:

Well to name specific examples, I would have to discuss with all of our advertising partners that I have added a new domain name so they can whitelist ads showing on that domain, additionally having the same content on multiple domains may cause google to see that and assume one is copying from the other which would result in losing rankings in google. As a result of losing rankings on google QuestionCove would then lose our ability to get new users. Such like that would happen

Not that QuestionCove is blocked on my school laptop but what do you think about windows? Just for like discord or anything. I have tried VPN's but they're all blocked, they also blocked all extensions on Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge, which is what I use, just for the rewards points. I also tried "broswer-in-broswer" apps, they are blocked as well. My school is very strict about it. They are using "Securely" by the way. @ultrilliam
