\[f(x)=\frac{ 3x²-3x-168 }{ x-9 }\] To fined all x-intercepts you need to solve this: y=0 or in a different way f(x)=0 Notice that Y = f(x). \[\frac{ 3x²-3x-168 }{ x-9 }=0\] 1- Multiply all terms by the same value \[(x-9).\frac{ 3x²-3x-168 }{ x-9 }=0\] 2- Cancel multiplied terms \[{ 3x²-3x-168 }=0\] 3- Please notice the common factor \[{ 3(x²-x-56 )}=0\] 4- Divide both sides of the equation by the same term \[{x²-x-56}=0\] 5- quadratic formula \[x =\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b²-4ac} }{ 2a}\] 6- Once in standard form, identify a, b and c from the original equation \[{x²-x-56}=0\] \[a=1\] b=-1 \[c=-56\] so your answer is \[x=\frac{ 1\pm15 }{ 2} \] \[x=8\] \[x=-7\]
