phsycoticboy:

right now in class im learning domain and range, does anyone have any tips or pointers?

Extrinix:

Here are a few things to remember: Arrows - represents a never ending line (represented by infinity or negative infinity) Open points - represents end of a line but DOES NOT include the number in which the point is on (x or y) Closed point - represents the end of a line and includes that points x and y values

Extrinix:

Example for arrows: "A point at (-2,5) with a continuous line into QII" Domain: \(-2 \lt x \lt (infinity))\) Range: \((5 \lt x \lt infinity)\) Example for open points: "An open point at (-2,5) with a point at (3,8)" Domain: \((-1 \lt x \lt 3)\) (notice -1 and not -2) Range: \((5 \lt x \lt 8)\) Example for closed points: "A point at (-2,5) to a point at (3,8)" Domain: \((-2 \lt x \lt 3)\) Range: \((5 \lt x \lt 8\)
