An obvious one though is with a product-based business, you need to be able to store and handle the product.

The same goes for a service-based business, since you'll need employees to handle the service, they need to be paid and taken care of (healthcare, 401k, bathroom breaks, a lot more variables).

and for the hair salon, A full-service salon offers everything, massage, haircuts, styling, hair color and perms, tanning, waxing, etc, and the reason why a grocery store isn't considered all service-based businesses is because someone isn't doing the shopping for you nor are they giving full massage complenrty drinks while you're shopping for your groceries but at the salon that dose happen.

Well I am going to add on to that. For what shadow said it is just putting that stuff into your own words. Its kinda like if you were pulling information for a summery for a book topic and putting it into your own words to make a essay. If that makes sense.
