L2doll:

hello i need help

L2doll:

Lila and Jillian both own small businesses in the town where they live. The women are friends and often get together to discuss their businesses, both the struggles and successes. Evaluate some of the differences that Lila and Jillian may discuss if one of their businesses is product-based and the other is service-based.

Questionnare:

i saw ur question while i was suspended (i couldn't answer it obviously) and i may be able to help

L2doll:

ooo okk

Questionnare:

well, product based is mainly for the company, for the people, and for the, well product.

Questionnare:

Service based is more for the people and for their happiness. Example, a hotel usually wants you to be more comfortable than uncomfortable from payments.

L2doll:

OK

L2doll:

did you take this course

Questionnare:

An example of product based may not always be reliable. What I mean by that is, usually, the company cares more about themselves than the person buying.

Questionnare:

No.

Questionnare:

@l2doll wrote:

No.

L2doll:

it was flvs

L2doll:

oh ok so what would i write down

Questionnare:

Well, do what it asks you to do. The 2 women will have 2 different sides, (but remember, they are friends).

L2doll:

what do they mean by evaluate their differences

Questionnare:

Just explain/define them.

L2doll:

ok

L2doll:

here I go imma write what I'm thinking

L2doll:

ok one question

L2doll:

@questionnare

L2doll:

@evreyone

L2doll:

@shadow

L2doll:

can you assist me

Shadow:

Is it a religion question?

L2doll:

no

L2doll:

Lila and Jillian both own small businesses in the town where they live. The women are friends and often get together to discuss their businesses, both the struggles and successes. Evaluate some of the differences that Lila and Jillian may discuss if one of their businesses is product-based and the other is service-based.

L2doll:

soo?

Shadow:

I don't know off the top of my head, but I would probably just research the pros and cons of running a product-based business and a service-based business.

L2doll:

yea ive got the pros and cons

L2doll:

but i dont what to write for this part Evaluate some of the differences that Lila and Jillian may discuss if one of their businesses is product-based and the other is service-based.

Shadow:

An obvious one though is with a product-based business, you need to be able to store and handle the product. The same goes for a service-based business, since you'll need employees to handle the service, they need to be paid and taken care of (healthcare, 401k, bathroom breaks, a lot more variables).

Shadow:

What do you mean "I don't what to write for this part."

L2doll:

I worded that poorly

L2doll:

so what would the differences be? because ik the pros-cons

Shadow:

The pros and cons are basically the differences

Shadow:

Product is better because of X, but bad because of Y. Service is better cause of A, but bad because of B.

Shadow:

Service requires ...., product doesn't. Product however does require ....

L2doll:

Ok so a bit like this, Service requires you'll need employees to handle the service, but in return they need to be paid and taken care of.

L2doll:

But imma bit confused on what products do require and a what a "product doesn't"

Shadow:

Do you have pros and cons for them?

L2doll:

yea heres on for products-well, product-based is mainly for the company, for the people, and for the, well product.

Shadow:

Well product-based is like a grocery store. A serviced-based business is like a hair saloon.

L2doll:

Okk

Shadow:

Do you see any differences between the two, that generally speaking, could apply to all product based business, or all service based businesses?

L2doll:

yes on differences between the two are for the grocery store is a retail place where people can go and buy stuff like food, and some even have clothes.

L2doll:

and for the hair salon, A full-service salon offers everything, massage, haircuts, styling, hair color and perms, tanning, waxing, etc, and the reason why a grocery store isn't considered all service-based businesses is because someone isn't doing the shopping for you nor are they giving full massage complenrty drinks while you're shopping for your groceries but at the salon that dose happen.

L2doll:

Sooo?

Shadow:

So in other words, a product-based business sells actual physical things, but a service-based business sells the skills of those performing the service.

L2doll:

yess

L2doll:

so is that what you wanted me to write

Shadow:

Well, you just need to write the differences.

L2doll:

in other words how do I incorporate that into my answer ?

Shadow:

What do you mean? Just use physical object vs experience in your own words as the difference between a product vs serviced based business.

L2doll:

can you provide an example with out reveling the answer?

Shadow:

I did with the grocery store and hair saloon

L2doll:

Ok :) one moment!

L2doll:

so the differences that Lila and Jillian will have are. since Jillian is running a product-based business so she won't have the best consumer care and Lila is running a service-based business her main priority will be the satisfaction of her customers.

L2doll:

@shadow

L2doll:

soo

Shadow:

Jillian isn't running a product-based business, I would say "If Jillian is running a product-based business." And it's not that she won't have the the best consumer care, it's that she would be more focused on selling physical products than selling an intangible experience.

Shadow:

Like hair saloon ladies chat you up, make you feel good, and are aimed at making you more attractive. That's different than selling a banana.

L2doll:

so the differences that Lila and Jillian will have are. If Jillian is running a product-based business she would be more focused on selling physical products than selling an intangible experience. If Lila is running a service-based business her customers would feel comfortable in her business and it will feel like a safe place.

L2doll:

Hows that??

L2doll:

If Jillian is running a product-based business she would be more focused on selling physical products than selling an intangible experience. If Lila is running a service-based business her customers would feel comfortable in her business and it will feel like a safe place

L2doll:

IS that good?

Shadow:

I mean for the Lila part, sure, but it might be more general to say that she's trying to sell a quality experience through skills and customer care.

L2doll:

hmm ok

L2doll:

one moment

L2doll:

If Jillian is running a product-based business she would be more focused on selling physical products than selling an intangible experience. If Lila is running a service-based business it means she's trying to sell a quality experience through skills and customer care.

Shadow:

While I'm sure a lot of service-based businesses do want their clients to feel comfortable and safe, that isn't their absolute main goal.

Shadow:

If you want to review more differences to research, you can review them here: https://www.mitosis.us/blog/pros-cons-productization

L2doll:

Ohh ok

Shadow:

I'm gonna go eat lunch but I think you're good

L2doll:

do you mind helping me one more

Shadow:

L2doll:

Kelly is at the beginning stages of starting a business and looking for resources that could prove helpful. How helpful might various sources of assistance such as the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Small Business Administration (SBA), etc. be for Kelly? Evaluate and explain.

L2doll:

this one Makes no sense at all

Just Google "What does the SBDC do" and "What does the SBA do?"

Shadow:

They probably help them through training, manuals, loans, etc. You can find those specific details on their websites.

Shadow:

A lot of these kinds of questions are literally just grabbing information from a lesson plan or website, then forming it into your own words.

L2doll:

yea but the problem is with flvs the lessons art clear at all

Timmyspu:

@shadow wrote:

May I add on to that point shadow?

L2doll:

all they do is throw work at us with no intent of teaching us

Timmyspu:

Well I am going to add on to that. For what shadow said it is just putting that stuff into your own words. Its kinda like if you were pulling information for a summery for a book topic and putting it into your own words to make a essay. If that makes sense.
