lilbxbyyy:

like terms?

Krissy525:

what exactly are you asking

lilbxbyyy:

when they say "combine like terms" i get confused with it

carmelle:

Combining like terms is a way to simplify expressions in math. Example: 4x +10x = 14x You can only simplify expressions if they have the same variable (in this case, x). If you have an expression that looks like this: 4x + 10y You cannot simply this expression further because they have no like terms. (x and y are two different variables.)

carmelle:

simplify*

lilbxbyyy:

that makes so much more sense but if its let say j and b do i just not put the variable and just the answer?

carmelle:

The same rule applies for j and b as well. "You cannot simply this expression further because they have no like terms."

lilbxbyyy:

okay tysm for helping me

carmelle:

You're welcome! Anytime :D

lilbxbyyy:
