How did farming change in Ming China? What forms of art and writing were popular?

Questionnare:

Agriculture during the Ming changed significantly. First of all, gigantic areas devoted to cash crops sprung up, and there was a demand for the crops in the new market economy. Secondly, agricultural tools and carts, some water-powered, help to create a large agricultural surplus that formed the basis of the rural economy. In addition to Chinese painting and calligraphy, jade carvings and black and red lacquerware were also highly valued. Paintings are more famous in the Bei Song period, while decorative works come from the Nan Song.
