Timmyspu:

Are you talking about for president, or are you talking about making decisions in a supreme court or the house?

Tonycoolkid21:

for voting

Timmyspu:

Well for the president we are aloud to. We have two ways we vote. We vote in the popular vote and depending on what we vote on for weather its a Democratic or republican our people that are in the electoral congress will most of the time will vote for who we vote for. That is most of the time tho. Sometimes the people say they will vote for that person they dont. If you are talking about like voting for a big law or act or so forth then you will be on the house or congress. You dont need a degree for this but they are more likely to pick you if you have gone to law school and have a government position already, because then they know that you could already know a lot and know how to do some problems that may come your way. The supreme court is special thing tho. There is only up to a certain amount. I forgot how many. (My apologies) So the only way that you can get a new person on the supreme court is if the president nominates someone or they retire or die. You only have to get voted in or whatever once. Then you can work how ever long you want to server. You do not have to worry about election because they never have to go for another term like president.

Timmyspu:

As you can see there is so many different ways of voting. I hope this helps you!

Timmyspu:

Oh I forgot to add there has to be a majority for all the parts because if it ends up there is not a majority or if it is a tie then they will have to go to another part of the government to vote until they have a yes or no for the law or act. They have done this with a lot of presidents in the past. Here is a website about how elections have gone in the past and what the numbers were in the elections- https://www.270towin.com/historical-presidential-elections/
