2. In a survey conducted 73% of students said they would purchase a copy of their 8th grade yearbook. If 190 students were surveyed, about how many students said they would purchase a copy?

BLUEFACE123:

So the answer will be 38.42105263157895 So I got that answer by multiplying 100 times 73% Then you divide that by 190 which equals to 38.42105263157895 Ik this is right bc i do the same thing in math

mhanifa:

How would you find a percent value?

BLUEFACE123:

@mhanifa its not hard to find it

mhanifa:

Do you think 73% of the number is greater or smaller than half of that number?

BLUEFACE123:

@mhanifa Smaller

mhanifa:

Why 73% < 50%, can you explain?

mhanifa:

Correct way of calculation: 73*190/100 = your answer

BLUEFACE123:

You still get the sam answer 138.7

mhanifa:

Do you think 38 and 138 are same numbers???

BLUEFACE123:

Kinda

mhanifa:

I have no comments ...

Careful, you are trying to find a percent of a value You also cannot have a decimal value as people are whole numbers (you can’t have a fraction of a person) You had the right idea, multiply the number of students by the percent
