This is for @WestU Suppose you revolve the plane region completely

WestU:

Sorry! Here's the full question Suppose you revolve the plane region completely about the given line to sweep out a solid of revolution. Describe the solid. Then find its surface area in terms of pi.

|dw:1646795418001:dw| like the problem suggests, you'll need to visualize the shape revolving about the given line for a) imagine the rectangle revolving about the x-axis. you'll get a cylinder with radius 4 and height 3. from there, surfaace area of a cylinder = 2*pi*r*h + 2*pi*r^2, plug in your r and h and calculate the surface area. repeat this logic for the other parts.

WestU:

Got it! Thank you!

WestU:

That makes so much more sense! I'll relay this info to my student :)
