Hello! I’m Landon and my presentation about who and why I was inspired to start writing my own poems. Throughout my years in school, I’ve learned a lot about writing and my passion for it. One amazing writer that inspired me was Maya Angelou. Maya Angelou was known for her writing style. Maya inspired everyone to reach has high as she did. Maya’s words of action are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. The second person that inspired me was Walt Whitman. Walt wrote “Leaves of Grass” He wanted everyone to come together and be free as one whole. Mr. Walt inspired Ezra Pound, William Carlos Williams, Allen Ginsberg, Simon Ortiz, C.K. Williams, and Martín Espada. I was inspired by these two lovely people. They gave me a reason to keep writing and to love what I do. When I was a kid, I hated reading and writing, but now I write books and poems, but because of them I wouldn’t be where I am now. I took that chance and wrote about my feelings and about others. My quote for you is “Something you hate is always a reason to love it more”. Thank you for listening and I hope you all have a blessed day!
