Most users don't know this, but you can request to get dms wiped, most of the time.

Ya you can delete, but even if you delete your message it will still be able for the other person to still see. So yes and no.

Off topic of the question. Anywho, messages can only be deleted in GCs and Posts currently. Now, the delete button itself was/is already embedded into DMs and chats, but hasn't been activated yet.
