Help? I’m doing HW and I forgot how to do this- I’ll post it right now

FriskIsNice:

The question is “The sum of two numbers is 20.5. Their diffrence is 6.5, find the two numbers.

moxie:

um ok

moxie:

The sum of two numbers is 20.5: x + y = 20.5 Their difference is 6.5: x − y = 6.5

moxie:

is it right

FriskIsNice:

No, I had to find the actual numbers

moxie:

At least I tried🤗😁😄

FriskIsNice:

True, thanks for trying

u got it right?

moxie:

NO

moxie:

I don't know what type of math he's doing🤭🤭🤭🤭

dgreer4:

Hmmm this kinda sounds like a ratio type problem

moxie:

um

dgreer4:

The question is “The sum of two numbers is 20.5. Their difference is 6.5, find the two numbers. ^^^ So in this problem you're trying to find what _ + _ =20.5 and the same here except it's the opposite operation being used (-) and you're trying to find what two numbers subtracted from each other equals 6.5..... Right? But see in order for it it to be considered a ratio problem there must be a known factor besides the two outcomes (20.5 and 6.5) Imma try to figure this out for you @friskisnice

FriskIsNice:

Okie, I don’t really remeber how to do this TwT

moxie:

I am sorry I thought you War a boy

surjithayer:

x+y=20.5 x-y=6.5 add 2x=27 x=27/2=13.5 13.5+y=20.5 y=20.5-13.5=?

dgreer4:

Step-by-step with answer!!!!!!!

dgreer4:

huh it doesn't show

dgreer4:

Hold on I tried another way. let me know if you can view it

dgreer4:
