\[(x+y )^2=x^2+2xy+y^2,(x+y+z)^2=x^2+y^2+z^2+2xy+2yz+2zx\]
i will solve (vi) \[(1-a-a^2)^2=1^2+(-a)^2+(-a^2)^2+2(1)(-a)+2(-a)(-a^2)+2(-a^2)(1)\] \[=1+a^2+a^4-2a+2a^3-2a^2\] \[=a^4+2a^3-a^2-2a+1\]
