Ex0tiicgutz:

Captain Beatty regularly says that books are dangerous because they consist solely of conflicting ideas and information. He stands by the belief that the conflict within books can only create feelings of unhappiness and anger. Discuss the pros and cons of living in a society with such morals and standards. What might Bradbury be trying to tell his readers through Beatty’s explanation? (Book: Fahrenheit 451)

Okay so for the pros of this setting: I can only think of one here because in this day and age that just wouldn't work. The pro is that people would be more serious/realistic. The con is that there would be no emotion. Only happiness. Can you imagine living in a world where there is no other emotion except happiness? It would be pretty messed up in the sense that there is no emotion and everyone would smile and be happy and say something like a dog died. Man's best friend has died and because there is no sadness or anger. People would LITERALLY have a grin on their face during such a melancholy time.
