Let’s say you have an odd integer 1

To get to the next odd integer, 3, you’d add 2
And to get to the next one, you’d add 2 against to get 5.

So same logic applies with x. Add 2 to get to the second odd integer, then another 2 (for a total of 4) to the next one.
