Why do some .com websites work when you type .co and others don't?

It depends on whether the website creator has purchased the .co domain, I believe.

cause google worked on this type of mistake and it auto corrects for u also most websites actually end with .co meaning company.

.co is actually the extension for Colombia, though it is commonly used by people in many locations. Not company 🙃

Sometimes using .co will take you to a different website than intended as well, if someone else purchases the domain but .com belongs to the original
