Some schools think it's not acceptable for people to show skin in certain areas whereas they don't want them to be exposed to the point where people would wear almost thin to nothing. Even though I strongly suggest they fix it, students need to be able to express themselves in strong ways.

I use clothes to express my feeling and I can't do that with the dress code. I've seen guys go shirtless in school and they never said anything about it. dress code is strictly pointed at the girls. we show too much of of neck and we get sent home

Well, the dresscode was made a while ago. It does need updating. However, i do see what you mean, the dresscode is a tad sexist. Females cant show legs, stomach, sholders, and cant wear certain bras. But males can wear tanktops, shorts and show their stomach. Doesn´t make sense, but we cant do anything about it.
