I'm writing this sort of story for my Literature class and I'm having difficulty coming up with ideas for a dystopian theme(s) or idea.

Dystopian works typically examine some type of societal problem and create a fictional world based on that issue.

So a good starting point would be to think about some kind of problem we have in our society and think about potential consequences for that in the future.

It depends on what u like. If u like murder or kidnapping 'then do that. it is just up to what u like. Or u can look it up.
