so first we need to find the radius which is half of the diameter... the formula for circumference is 2 * pi * radius so we need to solve for the radius (r) in the equation 75.36 = 2 * 3.14 * r r = ? after you get this you need to plug your radius into the equation for area of a circle which is A = pi * r^2 let me know if this helps!

martai:

im confused.

xhikari:

okay so we need to divide 75.36 by 2 and by pi which is 3.14 and we get 12

xhikari:

so 12 is our radius then you can use the formula to solve for area A = pi * r^2

martai:

mhm

xhikari:

so 12 squared (12 x 12) is 144 then we need to multiply that times pi which is 3.14 what do you get?

martai:

a

xhikari:

yup you're correct (:
