How did the New Deal and the Great Society change the role of the federal government?

Please do note copy and past my response~  What the Great deal changed was it gave out Jobs to people in need of one during the great depression.

When the federal government did this tho it made the people of America think "Oh this is a permanent thing now. So the people of the U.S.A. now thought that this was permanent and the jobs FDR made with the new deal was going to be a permanent. They thought this was how it was going to be from now on.
