It's ________ is one of the causes of drought and famine in the Sahara region of Africa. a) geography b) geothermal
You could use some reasoning based on the definitions of your options. Geography (definition) : the nature and relative arrangement of places and physical features. Geothermal (definition) : relating to or produced by the internal heat of the earth.
With these two definitions, which do you think makes more sense: 1.) The Sahara is dry / has drought because of it's geography / is a desert or 2.) The Sahara is dry / has drought because it has volcanos / is heated by magma (geothermal)
I was thinking geography because of the physical features in the Sahara region, but my friends were saying geothermal because they thought that the heat came from the "inside" of the Earth.
you are correct, it is more likely to be geography if anything, the sahara might be a desert because of the tilt of the earth - but definitely NOT magma / geothermal
thank u!
